Sick Again?!

Well, here we are, the day before Christmas and battling sickness with Annely Blake again. This time it's that nasty ear infection that still won't go away, plus RSV/bronchiolitis. We're doing a steady round of antibiotics, humidifier, Motrin, Benadryl, and nasal suctioning. I've cleared off the top of her dresser to make room for all the pharmacy supplies. We really hope this third round of antibiotics knocks the ear infection out as she's been toting it around since October! Oh well, I can't complain much, she really is a happy baby for being so sick :( Tomorrow we're celebrating Christmas here, in Columbus, away from our families for the first time ever. We're having some of our Columbus "family" over: the Trammells' and Adams', plus my sister for Christmas dinner. Hopefully I'll get all the pictures up on Wednesday. Merry Christmas to you all!

small group christmas party

A real restaurant. Real adult conversation. No kids!!! It was the highlight of our week :)

our babies

It is quite rare that we get a picture of both of them looking at the camera and smiling!
Here they are, Will at almost three and Annely Blake at 8 months.

tired boy

Or maybe a more appropriate title would have been, "tired boy and parents." After nearly a year of being out of his crib and in his own bed, Will has finally figured out he can get out of his room. Now, at all hours of the night, he is entering our room and wanting to get in our bed. The answer so far has been a resounding NO! So, because of these late night visits, it has made for some pretty tired parents and one tired boy. We're not quite sure how to "fix" this problem. I'm not above locking him in his room, however, the door to his room doesn't latch- so that's out of the question. Anyone have any words of wisdom to pass our way?

Christmas Cookies

For as long as I can remember my family has been making sugar cookies for Christmas. Using my mom's delicious recipe, and her assortment of cookie cutters, we have baked (and eaten :))our way to Christmas each year. This year, Will got to join in the fun and helped decorate the cookies with green and red sprinkles. This was all he could talk about yesterday- decorating and eating cookies. It did not disappoint!

Our Week

We've had a busy week around here and it's only Wednesday! We trimmed the tree (and house) this week-end with help from my sister. Will came down with a cold, followed by a nasty return of the ear infection for Annely Blake..... only this time it's both ears. I spent most of this morning at the doctor and pharmacy. Never any fun with one fussy feverish baby and one rambunctious toddler who can't sit still for five seconds. Oh well,.... such is life. At least our house looks festive !!

Carefully placing the ornaments....The snowman ornament Will made at school.
The finished tree......

Early Christmas present for Annely Blake....a bucket swing......does it get any cuter than this??

Hanging on for dear life.....

Utter happiness. Our wild man Willie.

We "stole" this idea from the Zevac's blog. Enjoy!

two random pictures

A cute picture of Annely Blake. She's mastered sitting up and is now leaning/falling forward to reach something. She also scoots herself backwards, but so far no forward motion yet. We'll let you know when that happens. Oh, and she's cutting tooth #4. Fortunately, she's seems to be much like Will, in that teeth cutting don't bother her too much. (thank goodness:)) Will and AB's first bath together. This probably won't happen again for a while. She ended up on her back in the water after this "hug." But it still made for a cute photo-op.

Thanksgiving 2007

We spent today recuperating after a fun few days with Matt's family. First here for Thanksgiving dinner, then to Valdosta and Wild Adventures for two days. All 16 of us! There were way too many pictures to post here so I created an album if you wish to view. Click the link below.

Turkey day at School

Will had his little pre-school program today, which included his class "singing" (I use the term loosely) a couple of songs together on stage. Following in the footsteps of his mother, Will jumped around on stage, hid behind things and had to be pulled out by his teacher, and otherwise looked clueless when it came to participating in the song-singing. And in case you were wondering, yes, I was that obnoxious mother standing up in the back with the video camera lest I miss a minute of his on-stage debut.

Here he is: off in "Will world" His turkey t-shirt. He did NOT want his picture to be taken, but I took it anyways :)
Can't forget about Annely Blake. Who participated by trying to pull the table cloth off the table, arching her back and screeching, and banging her rattle loudly on the table during the prayer.

early morning

We've been up since 5:30 this morning with our girl. Annely Blake has a cold. And an ear infection. And she's cutting a tooth. And she got five shots on Wednesday. Somehow I managed to get her back to sleep while snuggling on the couch in the wee hours. I know I shouldn't complain. I have many friends whose kids have never been great sleepers. Unfortunately our oldest is Will. AKA "the best sleeper any one's ever seen." AKA "slept through the night at six weeks." AKA "has only woken up four times since then." (Did I mention he's almost three?) Yeah.... so it's like the kiss of death. No one will ever be as good a sleeper as he has been.
*sigh*

Auburn/Georgia

We spent the weekend up in Athens. Watching Georgia beat Auburn was probably the highlight, but we also had fun tailgating before the game. Here are two pics of the kids with their Georgia gear on.
I also took a pic of AB getting a bath in the sink at my parent's house. I then remembered I took a picture of Will at about the same age in the same sink. Here are the two pics for comparison. Wow! Can't tell they're related can you?!

what we did today

Will clearly wanted to be baby all day. First by getting in the crib with AB, then the high-chair, then wetting his pants four times today!! ARGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH I worked on three dresses! Who knew sewing could make me so happy. Here's Annely Blake's little a-line I have been fighting with for weeks. I finally gave up on the terrible embroidery job I'd done on the hem and added a little ruffle.

Annely Blake's response to green vegetables!

I don't think she liked them :)

small group costume party

Our 4th annual small group costume party was held last night. Better than candy and watching the kids have fun, is the anticipation of seeing what the adults are dressed like. It must have been funny for all the neighbors watching our group of 30(+/-) year olds walking down the street in our costumes.

The Maxey clan. We're supposed to be a modern day go-go dancer and night club bouncer....but I told Matt he looked more like an Italian mobster. Will really was a hobo tonight, as he refused to let me paint his face. Here he is checking out his loot.

Annely Blake wasn't sure what to think of us. Next year you'll be joining in the fun!!

There was some bum following us around all night........oh, wait, that was David Zevac.

The oh so cute Adams as The Wiggles and little ladybug Bethany.

Ryan and Maggie Foster. Ryan's wife Ashley was the only one I didn't get on camera. She was the rabbit being hunted by Ryan.

Cute little Zach Foster as a clown.

Susie as Peter Pan.

Little Lulie- Minnie Mouse.

Mickey Mouse and Tinkerbell- Walker Trammell and Anne.
(And I can't leave out the Lukester- in the bottom left corner as a little fisherman!)

Zevacs. Mardi Gras queen meets bum. What a pair :)

trick or treat

I took the kids this afternoon to Matt's work for trick or treating. They have bowls and bowls of candy set out and Will did a good job stocking up. Here are some pics from today. Look for more pics from our small group costume party tomorrow where the adults dress up. Now that's one you won't want to miss!

Little pumpkin (and a cute one I might add :)) "Could someone please take this thing off my head?"

Will the clown. (Or a hobo, as one woman mistakenly called him)

"What do you mean I can't have any more candy?"
