tagging and other things

So our good friend Emily "tagged" me in her blog today- thanks Emily :) Apparently I'm supposed to answer eight questions about myself to which no one really cares to know the answer to. At the end of this post I'll include some funny things Will is saying these days lest I totally bore you to death. Oh, I almost the most important thing; I have to "tag" other people. So.....how about Jawan, Sarah, Davina, and Bridget. Let's see you post your deepest darkest secrets for all the world to see!

1. What were you doing ten years ago? just graduated high school, looking forward to college
2. What were you doing one year ago? taking Will to the pool, enjoying sleep, you know, pre-2 kids stuff that people do
3. 5 snacks you enjoy? chips, cheese, chocolate, cereal, ice cream (no one ever accused me of being a health nut)
4. 5 songs to which you know all the lyrics? baby got back (I'm with you emily.....quite possibly the best song ever written :), happy birthday, jesus loves me, star spangled banner, I honestly can't think of another one- pretty pitiful isn't it :(
5. 5 things you would do if you were a millionaire? hire a personal chef, hire a maid, buy a big house, pay off debt, and give to the church
6. 5 bad habits? cracking my knuckles, talking during tv shows and movies, interrupting people, gossiping, laughing at inappropriate times
7. 5 things you like doing? reading, cooking, having people over, taking hot showers, drinking coffee in the morning while watching Good Morning America
8. 5 things you would never wear again? tapered jeans, white socks that go up past my ankles, big baggy sweaters, keds, panty hose

whew- that was painful!
now on to the interesting stuff:

Will's version of abc: ABCD HIJK UUUUUP, QRS, DVD, W, X NOW I NOW I ABCDHIJKUUP

Will's blessing he learned at church and now sings before every meal:
God ga fadda, God ga fadda, we bancum (thank you), we bancum, da da da bwessing, da da da da bwessing, a-men, a-men

nap time?

By these pictures it sure doesn't look like Will was taking a nap! He's been taking longer and longer to fall asleep during his nap-time lately, sometimes just dozing off before I come in to get him. He doesn't seem too worse for the wear thought, that's the scary thing. I really thought it would be a year or so before we dropped the afternoon nap. Will has always been a great sleeper, so he's surprised me with this one! Now don't think for a second that he's not still going to have "quiet time" in his room after lunch each day! I won't be able to look at him at the end of the day if I don't have an hour or two to myself! Here are some pictures of what he was up to today for his nap. Notice in the second one how he found one of his jackets and made an unsuccessful attempt to put it on. His cries for help were what brought me to his room to discover the damage......

Play Date

Luke Z came over to play with Will today and they had quite a good time yelling, chasing each other, knocking each other down, hitting, throwing, and in general acting like boys! Here are some pics:

"Mom, can't you tell Luke to give me my star back?"
" Ok, thanks for the star, but........

now he has my popper."

"It's ok Luke, I still love you!"

Will pushing "sam I am" in the "sloller"

Annely Blake went for her two month check-up today, and as you can see she doesn't look too happy about the shots. She weighed in at a healthy 11lbs 5oz and 22 1/2 inches. She's been VERY fussy since the visit and all the needle pricking. It's funny to see how she already has a little personality and how it's different from her brother's. Will was never fazed by anything, shots included, and he remains my laid-back, easy-going boy. If she's anything like us Ramsey girls, that high maintenance personality might be emerging! on another note- Matt and I planted Zinnia seeds a few days after AB was born. We weren't sure how they'd do, but the first round of blooms appeared last week and now graces our patio table.......

Jun 10, 2007

It was a whirl-wind weekend with my parents, sister, aunt, and uncle coming in for Annely Blake's baptism today. Each article of clothing or piece of jewelry she wore held special meaning: A tatted cap made by my great-grandmother and worn by my grandmother, mother, and myself. Baptismal gown worn by Will 2 years ago and by my sister 26 years ago. A gold and sapphire pin which I wore on my wedding day. A gold cross necklace made by my aunt Janet. After the service we all came back over to our house and feasted on ham, napa cabbage salad (believe me, you want the recipe to this one! thanks Sarah:)), fruit salad, potato and green bean salad, and white cake petite fours with pink booties iced on the top. I joked around to my uncle as they were leaving; "hey, maybe we'll do it again in two years!" Don't read too much into that :)

As promised, another picture of her in the gown and bonnet my grandmother sent from Charleston.

A surprise gift from my parents; a new Kenmore sewing machine! I'm excited to see what I can create with it. I'll keep you posted on the journey as I delve into my creative side. (I'm neither patient nor a detailed person so this should be interesting...)

redemption

A thorough cleansing of both our children was necessary this morning. We found vile pictures of them posted on our friend's website: www.allaboutadams.blogspot.com. Who ever thought blue and orange was a good color combination anyway? My dad said he heard crying over the phone when he called last night....I can see why. Annely Blake was able to redeem herself somewhat- we'll have to get Will in some Georgia gear another time. Steve and Bridget, I never thought you would stoop so low as to put Will in a cheerleader uniform. I mean, Auburn colors are bad enough, but a dress? War Tiger is it??? Oh, by the way Steve, I saw Walmart had Auburn paraphernalia on clearance....looks like they can't even give it away.

funny boy

Will: show me, show me

Mommy: what do you want to show me Will?

Will: this (starts walking into kitchen)

Mommy: ok, what is it?

Will: I touch this (points to dishwasher)

Mommy: Will, you know you're not supposed to push the buttons on the dishwasher, don't do it again ok.

Will: ok, I time-out (goes to his time out chair and puts himself in it)

at least he's honest!!
